I saw this movie the other night. I don't really remember or care to remember what it was about because it was pretty much the same as any other Older-Action-Hero-Playing-A-Washed-Up-Alcoholic-Possibly-Dirty-Cop-Who-Is-Just-Trying-To-Survive-While-Fighting-The-Demons-Of-His-Past movie. Big surprise, that character is played by Bruce Willis. Way to take a chance and play a new character, Bruce. You really stepped outside your acting comfort zone with this one.
So Willis plays Jack Mosley, the aforementioned cop, assigned to escort a witness (Mos Def) to the courthouse where he will testify. The courthouse is only... 16 blocks away! Brilliant fucking title. Just brilliant.
Anyway, the witness, Eddie, is apparently testifying against some dirty cops that Mosley works with. The cops are all like "Yeah, we're not going to let that happen."
Now, Mosley has to make the decision to either protect the witness or let his cop buddies kill his witness. Lets guess which option he chooses. Of course he protects the witness! He may be fucking his life up with the drinking/apathy, but deep down, you just know he is a good guy. Must be the comprehensive character development in this movie. I just knew.
Well, apparently, the cops are not to keen on this change of plans and hunt the pair down in downtown NYC.
Here's my favourite part of this movie: Now I've never been to New York city, so correct me if I am wrong, but I doubt that six over-weight, out of shape, old-ass cops could track down two people in Manhattan. I'm not just talking finding the guys. They were fucking EVERYWHERE. Just wondering...Isn't there like 1.5 million people crammed into 23 square miles? Don't you have to pretty much set yourself on fire to find a cop?

I really wanted to see this movie, but my date read me a review, and she basically convinced me it would suck!!
Sorry you had to endure it!! (I am counting the days until "V is for Vendetta" is released! You gonna go?)
I do want to see V is for Vendetta! If I see it, I will totally write a review asap.
